Terms of service
These terms govern your use of MarriageLicense.fyi (marriagelicense.fyi), a directory of marriage licence and marriage notice offices. By using the site you agree to them.
The directory
MarriageLicense.fyi lists marriage licence offices: where to go, how to contact the office, and where the official rules are. Fees, waiting periods, residency rules and ID rules differ by country and change often, so they live in our country guides and on the office's own page. The office's own page is always authoritative; check it before you go.
Accounts and claimed listings
Office staff can claim their office's listing by proving they belong to it, and then keep it up to date. You are responsible for what you publish under your account, and for keeping it accurate. Some changes are reviewed before they appear on the site.
Paid plans
Paid plans are monthly or annual subscriptions that renew automatically until cancelled. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time from the billing portal in your dashboard; changes apply at the end of the current billing period. A featured listing sorts first and carries a Featured label; a sponsored slot is a paid placement on one city page and always carries a Sponsored label. Billing is processed by Stripe: your card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers. Questions about a plan or a bill go to support@marriagelicense.fyi.
Acceptable use
Use the site lawfully. Do not submit false information, impersonate an office, or abuse the site or its forms in a way that harms the service or other users. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms.
Content and sources
Listing data comes from official public sources, credited in the footer, and from updates by the offices themselves. We work to keep it current but cannot guarantee it is complete or error-free. If a listing and the office's own page disagree, trust the office's page.
Liability
The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for decisions you make from directory content, including missed appointments or invalid paperwork: always confirm requirements with the office itself.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms. For any question about them, write to support@marriagelicense.fyi.
